Funded Internships

ASEEES Internship Grant Program

  • Master’s and PhD Students, Postdoctoral Scholars, Professional Students
  • $2,000 per month, for 2-4 months
  • Deadline: February

The ASEEES Internship Grant Program provides funding for students to accept unpaid or underpaid internships in areas directly related to Russian studies in sectors outside of traditional academia, including not-for-profit organizations, media, the arts, government, business/trade councils, etc. The internships must be in the U.S. and should be substantial in duration and responsibilities (at least 25 work hours per week).

Council on Foreign Relations’ Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program

  • Undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD Students
  • Paid internship
  • Deadline: Positions filled on a rolling basis

The CFR Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program provide training in the field of foreign policy and international affairs through a variety of positions. Interns work alongside staff while gaining valuable experience through exposure to leading foreign policy experts. Professional development training is also offered as a foundation for future work in the field of foreign policy and international affairs.

DAAD Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) Germany

  • Undergraduates
  • Money to cover programs costs and a monthly stipend of 750 Euros to cover living expenses.
  • Deadline: December

RISE Germany is a summer research internship program which places students in positions at top German universities and research institutions.  Students are matched with a host university or institute according to their area of interest and assist and are mentored by doctoral students and researchers.  German language is not required and the working language is English.

Seed Central Summer Internship with East-West Seed

  • Master’s and PhD Students, Postdoctoral Scholars
  • Covered internship costs + stipend
  • Deadline: December

The Seed Center Summer Internship with East-West Seed is a three-month internship taking place in Thailand in the summer. Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars working with technologies that are valuable for seed and plant breeding are encouraged to apply. Questions should be sent to Francois Korn.

Ted Bradshaw Engaged Student Scholars Program

  • Undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD Students
  • Stipend awarded at the end of a successful internship
  • Deadline: September/October

The Ted Bradshaw Engaged Student Scholars Program connects students with faculty and diverse leaders from government, business, non-profit and philanthropic sectors, to address real-world problems using research and data. You will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with research faculty and campus/community partners on social justice and environmental issues.
